Canfield receives American Physical Society award
Paul Canfield, scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Ames Laboratory and Distinguished Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University, has been selected by the American Physical Society for the 2014 David Adler Lectureship Award in the Field of Materials Physics. The award recognizes outstanding materials physicists who have made noted contributions through their research, review articles and lecturing.
Ellis appointed WER executive editor, receives ASCE Iowa award
Timothy Ellis, associate professor in civil, construction and environmental engineering, was recently appointed executive editor of Water Environment Research journal. In addition, Ellis was recently awarded Outstanding Government Civil Engineer from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Iowa Section. The award, presented to him on September 12, recognizes significant contributions in public service engineering.
Reiman Gardens captures tourism award
Reiman Gardens was named an "Outstanding Tourism Experience" for 2013 by the Iowa Tourism Office and the Travel Federation of Iowa.
Welk named NAK Fellow
Greg Welk, professor of kinesiology, was inducted into the National Academy of Kinesiology. The academy is an honorary organization composed of Fellows who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of kinesiology through scholarship and professional service.
