Mujumdar elected to National Academy of Construction
Vilas Mujumdar, professor of practice in civil, construction and environmental engineering, has been elected to the National Academy of Construction. The honor recognizes industry leaders with high personal integrity who made significant contributions to the effectiveness of engineering and the construction industry.
Woteki named to White House advisory council
Catherine Woteki, professor of food science and human nutrition, is one of 30 members of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) announced Sept. 22 by President Joseph Biden. PCAST is the sole body of advisors from outside the federal government charged with making science, technology and innovation policy recommendations to the president and the White House.
Beitz named a Sigma Xi fellow
Donald Beitz, Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor in Agriculture and Life Sciences, was named a fellow of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society, an international honor society for research scientists and engineers. The award acknowledges the longtime animal science professor's contributions to Iowa State's research mission and his many years of active membership in the honor society.
