Patricia Thiel, a Distinguished Professor in Liberal Arts and Sciences and a scientist at the Ames Laboratory, studies surface chemistry on an atomic scale. The academy, established in 1780, recognizes achievement in academia, business, government and public affairs.

Outdoor concert will close parts of north lots April 24-25
